Abstract: In this series of talks, I will survey some old and recent results in Extremal Combinatorics, with an emphasize on the application of algebraic methods. Topics will include set systems with restricted intersections, polynomial method, spectral techniques, and Combinatorial Nullstellsensatz. If time permits, we will also discuss the recent breakthrough by Croot, Lev, Pach, Ellenberg and Gijswijt on capsets.
